The iTeachers had the honor of being guest speakers for the Washburn Education Association meeting yesterday afternoon. We spoke about the iTeachers mission and gave the WEA members a taste of educational technology. Dr. Pownell shared some fun iPad apps that are useful to Elementary Education. Eli Woody demonstrated the Smart Board and the cool new program Edmondo, which is being implemented into schools. Melissa Jeanneret displayed how eBooks, specifically the Kindle fire, can be useful during book discussions in class. This was just a quick informative meeting to give the WEA members an idea of what the iTeachers do. We would love to see some of their faces and many more at our next meeting where we will explore a piece of integrating technology and offer hands on learning.

Cell phones, MP3 players, social networks, e-readers, and student owned devices are often banned from schools. Can they play a role in student learning? Join us for demos and discussion about these technologies.
There will also be pizza for fifty cents a slice! Bring a friend!
iTeachers would like to hold a meeting with a Halloween theme. If you have any ideas for topics to cover in the next meeting please share them with us. Thank you for your help and feedback!
I loved the meeting today. Thank you for the cool new ideas to implement in my classroom!
Eli Woody presented on using games in the classroom. He demonstrated ClassTools.net and showed how it can be used a number of ways.
